How to keep your battery service life longer

The battery is a functional component of the electrical control system. If the engine is the heart of a car, the battery management is the pacemaker by activating the beating heart. However, some drivers have some bad driving habits, it can overdraw battery life. In this article, we will give you a few tricks to make your battery more durable.

1. Turn off the light first and then turn off the air conditioner before parking a car

Some old models doesn’t have the function of automatic power off, so it is necessary to turn off the lights and reading lights in the car manually before turning off the engine.

It's also easy for us to ignore air-conditioner. When we turn off the engine with the air conditioner on, although there is no power supply, the air conditioner does not work. However, when we start the car again, the air conditioner will run automatically. This error can cause a heavy battery load and  reduce the battery life.

2. Go for a drive

Even all of your car's electrical systems are turned off, your car's battery might run out after a long period of parking. If your car is idle at home for a long period of time, it's important to start the engine regularly. You'd better to keep the engine operating at least 20 minutes, so that the battery has plenty of time to recharge.

3. Regularly clean the battery terminals

Periodically, open the hood and clean the positive and negative terminals on the battery. Regularly use cloth to clean dust, oil, grime and white powder attached on the terminal. it can not only keep it clean, but also can effectively reduce the accumulation of white powder and protect the battery

4. Close the car windows before turning off the engine

The windows and sunroof are powered by batteries, so it's better to close all of windows before turning the engine off.
